I've been having fun getting ready for the classes that I will be teaching this weekend at Woolbears.  The shawl that I'm making for the hazel loom class is almost complete as well as another sample sock for the Entrelac sock class.  I also decided to use the Entrelac sock pattern using larger needles and thicker yarn to make a large Christmas stocking.  I'm using Lamb's Pride worsted so I will have the option of felting or fulling it when it is complete. I have the day off tomorrow so I hope to post pictures then.

August 28, 2006

Once again it has been a while since I have made an entry in my diary.  It has been a busy year. My family and I have been having fun going to various SCA events, and I have been teaching knitting classes in addition to my more than full time job. I have been working on new garb for the SCA events that I have been attending although I do not have many pictures of it posted yet. I have also been working on a few projects patterned after pieces that are dated between 600 and 1600 CE.

A couple of weeks ago we went to Pennsic and had a wonderful time. Pennsic is an SCA event held every August where about 12,000 people camp for one to two weeks, dress in their field garb, fight battles, shop (can't forget the shopping!), eat, and my favorite thing to do, take classes.  The whole family can find something to do (that is if your family is a herd of nerds like we are).

Click here for Pennsic 35 pictures.  Unfortunately I had such a good time that I kept forgetting to take a lot of pictures.
